Abstract: The Lower Omo Valley is a region in eastern Africa significant for paleontological research. Some important sites in this area are Shungura and Usno Formations, where different hominin taxa have been discovered. The sediments from these sites date back to the Plio-Pleistocene, spanning a period of approximately 3-1 million years ago, providing a unique opportunity to understand the origin and evolution of the Homo genus.
